FC Olt Scorniceşti was a Romanian football club from Scorniceşti and Slatina . He played in the highest Romanian football league, Divizia A , in the 1980s .

history

FC Olt was founded in 1972 as Viitorul Scorniceşti in the hometown of Nicolae Ceauşescu . The club was run by his nephew. In 1973 the name was changed to FC Olt Scorniceşti . The club managed to direct walkover from the lowest league in the second highest Romanian football league, the Divizia B . In 1978 the club prevailed in the fight for promotion to Divizia B by a dubious 18-0 against the neighboring club Electrodul Slatina and rose due to the better goal difference against Flacăra-Automecanica Moreni . The following year, the rise in the managed Divizia A .

In the 1981/82 season , fourth place was the greatest success in the club's history. Due to its status, the club was repeatedly favored by official bodies, but it always placed itself in the middle. After the fall of Ceaușescu and the end of the communist regime at the turn of 1989/90, the club was excluded from playing during the winter break of the 1989/90 season and dissolved in January 1990.
