The Victoria Bucureşti is a former football club from Bucharest .

Athletic career

Dinamo-Victoria Bucharest was founded in 1971 as the second team of Dinamo Bucharest . From 1985 the club became independent in the first Romanian league , in which Victoria could play in the top third of the table. Between 1987 and 1989 Victoria Bucharest was able to achieve third place three times.

On an international level, reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup in 1988/89 was the Romanians' greatest success, in which they failed at Dynamo Dresden (1: 1.0: 4). In the 1989/90 UEFA Cup , Victoria ended up playing against Valencia CF in the first round. Shortly afterwards, on December 25, 1989, the police sports club was dissolved by the new rulers in Romania "for abuse and violation of laws and sports rules".
