The Divizia A 1955 was the 18th season in the history of the Romanian football league Divizia A. It started on March 6, 1955 and ended on November 30, 1955.

The 13 teams each played against each other twice. The last three teams were relegated to Divizia B , while three teams were promoted. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, the goal quotient decided .
