Divizia A 1959/60

The Divizia A 1960/61 was the 23rd season in the history of the Romanian football league Divizia A. It began on September 4, 1960 and ended on July 9, 1961 . Games were closed from the beginning of December to mid-March ( winter break ).

Champion became defending champion CCA Bucharest .

After a team was relegated last season, but three teams were promoted, the Divizia A comprised fourteen clubs. These played against each other twice on 26 match days. The last three clubs promoted to the Divizia B from. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, the goal quotient decided .
