The League 1 2007/08 was the 70th season in the history of the highest Romanian football league . It began on July 27, 2007 and ended on May 7, 2008. From mid-December to the end of February, the game was closed ( winter break ). Champion CFR Cluj .

The league 1 played with 18 teams. The four last-placed teams relegated to League II , from which four teams rose (the two first-placed teams from each of the two seasons). There were three points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison.
