The Ceahlăul Stadium is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Romanian city of Piatra Neamț . The stadium is named after the nearby Ceahlăul Mountains . The football club Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț plays its home games here.
history
The stadium was inaugurated in 1935 and after a thorough renovation in 2007 offers a total of 18,000 spectators. Only a small part of the main stand is covered by a roof. The venue is approved for UEFA Champions League matches .
The final of the Romanian Cup competition of the 2007/08 season was held in the stadium of Piatra Neamț. The CFR Cluj won with 2: 1 against Unirea Urziceni and brought for the first time the trophy. The game for the Romanian Supercup 2011, which Oțelul Galați won 1-0 against Steaua Bucharest , also took place here.
