The Divizia A 2004/05 was the 67th season in the history of the Romanian football league . It started on July 30, 2004 and ended on June 11, 2005 . Games were closed from the end of November to the beginning of March ( winter break ). Champion became Steaua Bucharest .

The Divizia A played with 16 teams. The three last-place teams went into the Divizia B from. There were three points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison.
