Gheorghe "Gigel" Bucur (born April 8, 1980 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football player on the position of a striker . He played a total of 320 games in the Romanian League 1 and the Russian Premjer League .

Club career

Bucur began his career at Sportul Studențesc , where he was brought to the first team in 1998. In his first season with the students, the striker was 13th with the club in the Divizia B. After a third place in 2000, 2001 the promotion could be fixed. Bucur debuted in the season 2001/02 on 13 August 2001 at home against Petrolul Ploiesti in the Divizia A . In his first first division season you could only reach 13th place; in the following relegation playoffs, however, the club was able to secure relegation. The relegation followed in 2003 when they only reached the penultimate place with 15th place. The following year came back to top place. As a climber, Bucur and his club were able to achieve the best position of his career so far in the 2004/05 season with seventh place.

In 2005 he moved to FC Timișoara for a transfer fee of 800,000 US dollars , after an eighth and seventh place in 2005/06 and 2006/07 you could qualify for the 2007/08 with sixth place for the UEFA Cup .
