Career

Iacob started the soccer game in his hometown at Flacăra Râmnicu Vâlcea . From there he moved to the capital in 1999 to AS Rocar Bucharest , for whom he made his debut in Divizia A on December 4, 1999 in the defeat against FC Argeş Piteşti . After the following season, he moved to Universitatea Craiova for a year in 2001 , before returning to FC Național Bucharest in the capital . In 2003 he left FC Național again to join Oțelul Galați . Except for the second half of the 2003/04 season , in which he played for Rapid Bucharest , he stayed with the club until 2005. After the 2004/05 season , which was very successful for him with 13 goals scored , he moved to reigning champions Steaua Bucharest , who was able to defend the title with him a year later. He is a tall (1.90 m) striker with a strong header who was one of the club's key players.

During the winter break of the 2007/2008 season he moved to the German second division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern where he signed a contract until summer 2010 and was unable to come into play due to an injury.

On July 11, 2008, the association terminated the contract “for important” reasons with immediate effect. Iacob then returned to Romania and played for CS Otopeni since early 2009 . Since July 2009 he played for the Greek club Iraklis Thessaloniki . There he scored eleven goals in his first season , but was also sent off five times. In the summer of 2011 he joined local rivals Aris Saloniki . He left this after six months and returned to CS Concordia Chiajna in his Romanian homeland. There he was only used three times and moved to Niki Volos in the summer of 2012 for the Greek Football League . At the beginning of 2013 he joined Universitatea Cluj , where he ended his career a few months later.
