AS Rocar Bucharest was a Romanian football club from Bucharest . He played in the highest Romanian football league from 1999 to 2001 and was in the 2001 cup final .

history

Rocar Bucharest was founded in 1953 as a sports club of the Romanian commercial vehicle manufacturer Autobuzul (later Rocar ) under the name Autobuzul Bucharest . He first played in the regional league before he was promoted to the national division of Divizia C for the first time in 1968 . Two years later, Autobuzul was able to win his season, but could not prevail in the promotion round against undeantierul Naval Oltenița and CFR Paşcani .

After a placement in midfield and a compared attempt, Autobuzul was promoted to Divizia B for the first time in 1973 . In the same season, the club was able to qualify for the first time for the main round in the Romanian Cup , but was eliminated there against UTA Arad . After promotion, two placements in midfield before the club had to relegate to Divizia C again after three years.

Just one year later, in 1977, the company was able to rise again. In the following years, Autobuzul was able to establish itself in Divizia B and always placed itself in the middle of its season. After relegating again in 1985, he managed to return a year later. This time there was a fight for relegation right from the start, which led to relegation in 1988, but again to direct relegation. With one exception in the 1991/92 season when a third place was achieved, Autobuzul played with in the lower midfield.

After the change of name from Autobuzul to Rocar in 1993, the club also changed its name and was henceforth AS Rocar Bucharest . In the following years Rocar always placed himself in the middle of Divizia B, before he made the jump to second place and the associated promotion to the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A (today League 1 ), in the 1998/99 season . After relegation in the first year , the club entered into a cooperation with the second division club Fulgerul Bragadiru . After Fulgerul initially wanted to buy the license from Rocar (which was prohibited by the Romanian Football Association ), both clubs merged under the name Rocar Fulgerul .

Already at the end of the 2000/01 season , the club had to relegate to Divizia B due to the lost direct comparison with FCM Bacau . Previously, the club had the greatest success in its history by reaching the cup final , but lost there against Dinamo Bucharest .

After relegation, the merger with Fulgerul Bragadiru was resolved again and both clubs continued to play in Divizia B (due to the qualifications previously achieved, as the second team had played in Divizia B). Fulgerul took on the new name AEK Bucharest , which later moved to Timișoara as Politehnica AEK . Rocar himself withdrew from gaming operations in the middle of the season after the Rocar company was dissolved.

After a break of three years, the club started again in 2005 under the new name AFC Rocar ANEFS Bucharest as a football club of the National Academy of Physical Education and Sport ( Academia Națională de Educație Fizică și Sport ; ANEFS ). In 2006 he returned to Divizia C. He was a member of this for three years before he retired from gaming again in 2009 and dissolved.
