Romeo Constantin Stancu (born May 11, 1978 in Slatina , Olt district ) is a former Romanian football player . The midfielder played 118 games in the highest Romanian football league, League 1 .
Career
Romeo Stancu's career began at Universitatea Craiova , where he played for the first time in the Romanian top division, Divizia A (now Liga 1 ), on March 22, 1997 . It was his only game in the first team of Uni Craiova. In the summer of 1998 he moved to AS Rocar Bucharest in Divizia B (now Liga II ). With Rocar he succeeded in being promoted to Divizia A, but there he only got one job. After the club's merger with Fulgerul Bragadiru in 2000, he played in the club's second team in Divizia B. AEK Bucharest was promoted to Divizia A. During the season he had developed into a regular player.
After the rise, he moved the club to Timișoara and henceforth called Politehnica AEK Timișoara . Stancu remained loyal to AEK and was able to prevail in a league higher. In 2005 he left Timisoara and moved to league rivals Rapid Bucharest . After he was only used in half of the games in the 2005/06 season and had won the Cup , he was seriously injured in the summer of 2006 and was not used frequently in the 2006/07 season or in the 2007/08 season .
In 2008 Stancu left Bucharest and switched to Oțelul Galați , where he was hardly used at Rapid, as before. Since March 2010 he has been playing for Unirea Alba Iulia , where he had to relegate to Liga II at the end of the 2009/10 season . He then left Alba Iulia to CS Mioveni . In the summer of 2011 he ended his career.
