The Divizia B 2001/02 was the 62nd season of the second highest Romanian football league . AEK Bucharest and UTA Arad got into the Divizia A on.

mode

The league was played in two seasons with 16 teams each. The two winners were promoted directly to Divizia A, while the runner-ups were also promoted through the play-offs. The last four clubs were relegated to Divizia C. There were three points for a win, one for a draw and no point for a loss. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison .

    1 Rocar Fulgerul Bragadiru moved his seat to Bucharest and entered as AEK Bucharest.
    2 Electromagnetica Bucharest joined Rapid Bucharest as the reserve team.
    3Metalul Plopeni came as a reserve team from Astra Ploiesti . Six points were deducted from the club for attempted manipulation in the game against Rocar Bucharest (3-0). It was rated 0: 3 for both teams.
    4th Tractorul Brașov withdrew after the season from Divizia A and then sold the league place to Bucovina Suceava.
    5 Unirea 2000 Focșani was renamed Diplomatic Focșani.
    6th Dinamo Poiana Câmpin was deducted six points for irregularities.
    7thThe place from the relegated from the Divizia A Rocar Fulgerul Bragadiru took over again after the merger of the AS Rocar Bucharest. The club were deducted three points for attempted manipulation on the 15th matchday in the game at Metalul Plopeni. As a result, Rocar withdrew during the winter break. The remaining 15 games of the second half of the season were rated 3-0 for the opponents.

    2 Olimpia Satu Mare stayed in Divizia B after they bought the starting place from the actual promoted Metrom Brașov.
