history

Cimentul Fieni was founded in 1936 and is named after the local cement factory. The club played in the regional leagues for almost four decades before advancing to the third Romanian football league, Divizia C , in 1973 . There he was able to place himself in the middle of his season in the following years or fought to stay in class until the end. In the 1991/92 season Cimentul was able to intervene for the first time in the fight for promotion to Divizia B , but had to admit defeat to competitors Metalul Plopeni and AS Poiana Câmpina .

After the club had finished the 1996/97 season as runner-up behind Midia Năvodari , they made it into Divizia B in 1998 with a six point lead over Petrolul Brăila . There Cimentul had nothing to do with the relegation battle and ended the 1998 season / 99 behind FC Braşov and AS Rocar Bucharest in third place of season 1. In the same season, the team sat in the first main round of the Romanian Cup against first division club FC Argeş Piteşti 1-0, but lost to the later finalists in the round of 16 Rapid Bucharest with 0: 3.

The following two years Cimentul fought to stay in the league. In the 2000/01 season , the club was relegated and secured the class stay by buying the license from league competitor Metrom Brașov . It was only in the 2001/02 season that the club was able to free itself from the lower table regions and achieved the best result in the club's history with second place behind AEK Bucharest . As a result, the team qualified for the relegation games for promotion to Divizia A, but missed this with two defeats against first division Sportul Studențesc . Like three years before, the club also made it into the round of 16 for the Romanian Cup this season . This time he had eliminated first division club FC Universitatea Craiova on penalties in the first main round before losing 0-1 to Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț .

After this success, Cimentul fought in the 2002/03 season again to stay in class, which succeeded on the last day of the game. The following season ended the club in the penultimate place of season 2 and had to relegate to Divizia C. The recovery was missed in the 2004/05 season with a fourth place. The club then merged with a lower-class team from Buftea to form CS Buftea and thus dissolved.
