Foresta Fălticeni was a Romanian football club from Fălticeni , Suceava County . From 1997 to 2002 he played his home games in Suceava before being disbanded in 2003. He belonged to the highest Romanian football league for three seasons and made it to the 1967 cup final .

history

Foresta Fălticeni was founded in 1954 as Avântul Fălticeni (German upswing ). As early as 1955, he played in Divizia B , the second Romanian football league, but was relegated after just a year. In the 1956 season he played under his new name Recolta Fălticeni (German harvest ) in Divizia C, which was only sporadically held at the time . The immediate ascent was achieved there. After the meanwhile renaming in Energia Fălticeni , the association took the name Foresta Fălticeni in 1957 .

Foresta placed in Divizia B for several years in the midfield of his season without intervening in the fight for promotion or against relegation. In the season 1962/63 succeeded for the first time the jump to third place, in the following season, however, the club rose to the Divizia C. This belonged to the club until 1983 with an interruption in the 1974/75 season when he played in Divizia B, continuously. During this time, reaching the cup final in 1967, the greatest success in the club's history fell, when the club was initially able to eliminate the first division clubs Steagul roşu Braşov , Politehnica Timişoara , CSMS Iaşi and Rapid Bucharest , but lost 6-0 to Steaua Bucharest in the final .

During his time in Divizia C Foresta was always in the top group, but the club was denied promotion with the exception of 1974. After he changed his name to Chimia Fălticeni (German chemistry ) in 1982 , he rose again in 1983. After relegation in the following two seasons, Chimia had to relegate again in 1986. In the two following seasons, the promotion was missed.

In 1988 the club name was changed back to Foresta Fălticeni . A year later the club returned to Divizia B. Foresta was able to stay there for five years before the club had to go back to Divizia C in 1994. After the immediate resurgence, the club narrowly missed the march into the House of Lords a year later when it landed behind Jiul Petroșani in second place.

A year later, Foresta made it into the top Romanian league, Divizia A, for the first time . After the rise, the club moved to the nearby city of Suceava and from then on played under the name Foresta Suceava . This was necessary because the structures in Fălticeni were not sufficient, and was favored by the fact that the leading club Suceavas, CSM Suceava , was not represented in the national game operations at the time.

In the upper house, Foresta was able to finish in 15th place in the 1997/98 season and stay in the class, before a year later only the 16th place jumped out and the club had to relegate to Divizia B. For the immediate revival followed in the 2000/01 season again the descent, as Foresta number 15 lying in the relegation had, where the FC Baia Mare because of the away goals rule was defeated.

After relegation, the club finished only in tenth place and changed its name back to Foresta Fălticeni during the 2002/03 season . After another descent to Divizia C in 2003, the club was excluded from the game at the beginning of the following season and then dissolved.
