The Divizia B 2005/06 was the 66th season of the second highest Romanian football league . Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț , Universitatea Craiova and UTA Arad 7 , and Unirea Urziceni on the play-offs rose to League 1 .

mode

The league was played in three seasons with 18 teams each. The three winners were promoted directly to Divizia A, while the runners-up found the fourth promoted team via the play-offs. The last six clubs were relegated to Divizia C. Another relegated team was determined between the tenth place. There were three points for a win, one for a draw and no point for a loss. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison .

    1UTA Arad bought the license from the promoted Liberty Salonta and returned to League 1. Salonta instead took the place of UTA Arad in Liga III .

    3 FCM Reșița acquired the starting place from Tricotaje Ineu before the season.
    4th Corvinul 2005 Hunedoara acquired the starting place from Unirea Dej before the season.
    5 Gloria Bistrița II withdrew after the end of the season.
    6th Unirea Dej was spared relegation due to the withdrawal of Gloria Bistrița II.
    7th Apulum Alba Iulia was spared relegation after the Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea refused promotion to Liga II.
    8thArmătura Zalău was dissolved in autumn 2006. The results have been canceled.

    Play-offs

    In the following season, League I was increased from 16 to 18 clubs. Therefore, a fourth climber was determined between the runners-up.
