Unirea Dej is a Romanian football club from Dej . He played a total of ten years in League II and was in the round of 16 for the Romanian Cup in 1995 . Since summer 2007 he has been a member of League III .
history
Unirea Dej was founded in 1921, but did not appear in national gaming operations in the first 40 years of its existence. In 1962 Unirea rose for the first time in the Divizia B , but had to a season already rising again and was the refounded Divizia C incorporated. After three years, the club returned to Divizia B in 1966, but was relegated again immediately. In the following years the ascent did not succeed. Several times, the club missed the return to Divizia B. In 1982 Unirea had in the in second place Divizia D dismount. After a direct resurgence, he went back to the regional leagues in 1984.
In 1989 Unirea Dej returned to Divizia C. After two years in midfield, the club fought for promotion to Divizia B from 1991, which was initially narrowly missed as runner-up behind Șoimii Lipova . In the 1993/94 season Unirea was able to leave the competition behind by twelve points and rose. In the 1994/95 season , the club succeeded in relegation for the first time, the following seasons he completed in the front midfield of Divizia B. Reaching the round of 16 in the 1994/95 cup competition was the greatest success in the club's history. At the end of the 1998/99 season , Unirea was the last to be relegated. After only relegation was achieved in the following season in Divizia C, the club fought again at the beginning of the 2000s for promotion, which was achieved in 2004. In Divizia B, Unirea fought to stay in the league from the start. In the 2004/05 season this goal was achieved by taking 13th place in the table. Then Unirea signed a contract as a satellite team from CFR Cluj , so that in the following season numerous substitutes for the first division club were used in the championship. Nevertheless, shortly before the end of the season, the sporting descent of the team trained by George Ciorceri was certain. In June 2006, Árpád Pászkány , the patron of CFR Cluj, agreed with Jean Pădureanu , the patron of Gloria Bistrița , that Gloria's second team, which had occupied eighth place in the same second division season, would cede their starting right to Unirea Dej . In early September 2006 coach Ciorceri left the club and was replaced on September 14, 2006 by Dorel Mureșan , with whom Unirea finished the 2006/07 season in last place and relegated to League III . CFR Cluj then ended the collaboration with the club in the summer of 2007. In League III, Unirea Dej was able to place in the midfield in the following years.
After five defeats in a row, coach Eusebiu Șuvagău was dismissed on November 10, 2011 and replaced by Mircea Bolba .

Others
In addition to football, there are other sports departments in the club. Both the men's volleyball team and the women's basketball team played in the top Romanian league in the 2007/08 season. The volleyball men were also first class in 2009/10 and finished fourth at the end of the season.
