society

Papp started playing football at the age of ten with Luceafărul Dej in his hometown. In 2006 he moved to Unirea Dej , which played in the second Romanian league, Liga II , and was initially coached by George Ciorceri and from September 2006 by Dorel Mureșan . In his first season he came on only a few missions, but remained with the club even after its relegation in 2007. In the following Liga III season he was a regular, but clearly missed promotion with his club.

In the summer of 2008 Papp left Dej and moved to FC Botoşani in Liga II. After only six months, the FC Vaslui team playing in Liga 1 took him under contract. There he came in the second half of the 2008/09 season only on one use and was loaned to Farul Constanța in Liga II at the beginning of the 2009/10 season for half a year . After his return to Vaslui he established himself as a regular player and finished the season with his team in third place. At the same time he made it to the cup final , but lost to CFR Cluj on penalties. The 2011/12 season he finished with his club as a runner-up, where he in turn had to let CFR Cluj go first. In the summer of 2012 he was signed by the Italian first division club AC Chievo Verona . There he could not prevail at first, only at the end of the 2012/13 season he came more often and scored his first goal for Chievo on matchday 31 against Udinese Calcio .

At the beginning of 2014, Papp was loaned to Astra Giurgiu in his Romanian homeland for half a year . With Astra he was able to finish the 2013/14 season as runner-up behind Steaua Bucharest and then win the Romanian Cup . In August 2014, Papp was loaned to Steaua Bucharest, who signed him up at the beginning of 2015. He won the 2015 championship with Steaua . In the 2015/16 season he came to only seven missions.

In the summer of 2016, Papp left Steaua and moved to FC Wil 1900 in the Swiss Challenge League . In January 2017 he moved on to the Turkish first division club Kardemir Karabükspor . Another year later he joined league rivals Sivasspor .

National team

In February 2011, Papp was appointed to the Romanian national team for the first time by national coach Răzvan Lucescu . On February 8, 2011, he made his debut against Ukraine in a tournament in Cyprus . In the 2011/12 season he became a fixture in the team of the new coach Victor Pițurcă . In the 3: 4 defeat in the friendly against Slovenia on August 15, 2012, he scored his first goal. However, it was then no longer taken into account.
