Petar Škuletić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Петар Шкулетић , born June 29, 1990 in Nikšić , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian football player on the position of a striker .

Career

Youth and club career

Škuletić began his active career as a football player in 2004 in the youth division of Partizan in the Serbian capital Belgrade . At the U-17 Quixote Tropheo in 2008 he was the top scorer of the tournament with seven goals , with the U-17 team from Partizan outclassing the U-17 team from FC Barcelona 5-0.

After four years in the youth teams, he switched from Partizan's U-19 team to Teleoptik Zemun , the club's farm team, on loan in 2008 . He was used in several league games at the club, whose combat team is in the Srpska Liga Belgrade (one of the four sections of the third-class Srpska Liga ).

In early 2009 it was announced that several international professional clubs, such as Celtic Glasgow and Blackburn Rovers, showed interest in the tall striker. When Miralem Sulejmani left the club for the Netherlands for SC Heerenveen in 2006 , it seemed as if the club was keen to sell the young talents profitably to major international clubs. After Nikola Gulan ( Sampdoria Genoa and Fiorentina ), Zoran Tošić and Adem Ljajić (both Manchester United ), Škuletić should be another young player in the winter of 2008/09 to make the leap from Partizan Belgrade abroad. But a contract was never signed.

The scouts became aware of Škuletić in the summer of 2008 during a youth selection tournament in Northern Ireland , in which the player and his team were able to celebrate some successes.

In June 2009 Škuletić signed his first professional contract with his home club. Shortly thereafter, there were some complications because the Austrian Bundesliga club LASK Linz was also interested in the Serbian junior team player. After he had a meeting on July 7th regarding his visa, Škuletić transferred to the Upper Austrian capital Linz the following day .

On August 7, 2009, in a 4-0 home win over Kapfenberger SV , he made his professional debut when he came on for Roman Wallner in the 79th minute . In the 1: 2 home defeat against SK Sturm Graz on February 27, 2010, the native Serb scored his first professional igator after submission by Florian Hart of the same age .

After he was sorted out of the Linz squad under coach Helmut Kraft and also played no role in the amateurs, he was awarded to the Montenegrin club FK Zeta Golubovci in February 2011 . In summer 2011 he left Linz for good and moved back home to Vojvodina Novi Sad , playing there until the beginning of 2014. Finally, his youth club Partizan, with which he is now under contract, signed him up.

In the summer of 2017 he was signed by the Turkish first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara .

International

Although Škuletić was born in what is now Montenegro , he came to the Serbian national team for his first international junior matches. Nevertheless, he was also given the opportunity to run for the Montenegrin youth selection. In 2006 the young striker played four games for the Serbian U-17 team and scored three goals. In 2008 he was in the squad of the U-19 national team , for which he was in a game.
