Emre Kılınç (born August 23, 1994 in Pamukova ) is a Turkish football player who has been under contract with Galatasaray Istanbul since August 2020 .

The beginnings

Kılınç learned to play football in the elementary school of his home province of Sakarya , where he successfully played in school football tournaments. Where the talented Kılınç later attended Fenerbahçe Football School for a year . After that, Kılınç took part in the talent screening of the youth department of Beşiktaş Istanbul , where he won a place, but Kılınç started playing club football in his homeland in the youth of the amateur club Sakarya Akademikspor, because, according to the request of Kılınç's father, the school-leaving certificate had priority. In 2009 he moved to Bolu, 124 km away, to join the Boluspor youth department . In 2010, the 16-year-old Kılınç was the top scorer in the youth tournament of the U-16 Academy League and was named the tournament's fair play player. He also received a professional contract in the same year, but continued to play a season for the reserve team. In summer 2010 the big three of Turkish football, the three Istanbul teams Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, took an interest in him. With the 2011/12 season he also took part in professional training and was also taken into account in the composition of the squad. In December 2011, the 17-year-old Kılınç made his professional debut in the TFF 1. Lig , Turkish second-highest division, by being substituted on. By the end of the season, Kılınç had completed four second division and one cup encounter (s) for the professionals. He played 133 competitive games for the professional Boluspor team in more than five years and scored 23 goals.

Promotion to the first division

In January 2017 he switched to Turkish league rivals and aspirants for promotion Sivasspor in the winter transfer period 2016/17 , at the end of the season Kılınç rose with the team as champions in the Süper Lig , Turkish top division, by making his contribution in 15 league games with five goals. At Sivasspor he wears the shirt number "54", which corresponds to the Turkish license plate of his province of birth . In December 2018, after the 24-year-old left-footed player had successfully played football on the left offensive wing for the last two seasons , it became known that the talent scouts from the French first division club OSC Lille and German first division club VfB Stuttgart noticed him and attended his football matches.

At the end of the 2019/20 season, Kılınç announced his departure from Sivasspor.

Moved to Galatasaray Istanbul

On August 12, 2020, Kılınç will move to Galatasaray Istanbul on a free transfer and signed a four-year contract.

National team

Kılınç played twice for the Turkish U-19 national team in late 2012 . Later, between 2014 and 2015, assignments for the Turkish U-20 and U-21 national teams followed .

In March 2019 the 24-year-old Turk was appointed to the squad of the Turkish senior national team , the highest national soccer team in Turkey, for the first two qualifying matches under the new Turkish senior coach Şenol Güneş after his successful football performances at the Turkish first division club Sivasspor for the European Championship 2020 .
