Yunus Akgün (born July 7, 2000 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish football player . He plays for Galatasaray Istanbul .

Club career

Akgün joined the youth of Galatasaray Istanbul at the age of eleven . After six years in the youth of the yellow-reds , Akgün signed a professional contract with a term of three years. In his first season with the first team, he was not used in the Süper Lig . On August 5, 2018 he was substituted on for Fernando in the final of the Turkish Supercup against Akhisarspor .

His debut in the Süper Lig made the winger on August 27, 2018 against Alanyaspor . His head coach Fatih Terim came on for Henry Onyekuru in the 83rd minute. One minute after coming on, Akgün made the assist for Emre Akbaba's 6-0 . In the second leg of the second leg of the Turkish Cup against Boluspor , Akgün managed a hat trick and an assist. The game ended 4-1.

In November 2019 Akgün extended his expiring contract, long-term until the end of the 2023/24 season.

National team

From 2015 to 2017 Yunus Akgün played for the Turkish U-16s and U-17s. In 2017 Akgün took part in the World Cup and European Championship with the Turkish U-17 .
