In July 2015, the South African Association announced that it would withdraw the application. With Azerbaijan, India, Ireland and Uzbekistan, there were still four countries to choose from. The FIFA Executive Committee voted on the final venue on December 5, 2013 at a meeting in Salvador , Brazil . India prevailed against its three competitors.
