Elias Abouchabaka (born March 31, 2000 in Berlin ) is a German soccer player . The offensive player has been under contract with the Portuguese first division club Vitória Guimarães since January 2020 and is a young German national player.
Career
societies
Abouchabaka played for SV Blau-Weiss Berolina Mitte and Hertha BSC in his youth . In the summer of 2015, he switched to the youth department of the then second and today's Bundesliga club RB Leipzig for the record fee of 250,000 euros for youth players at the time. In his first season in the Junior B Bundesliga for RB Leipzig, Abouchabaka scored six goals in 26 games. In his second B-Junior Bundesliga year, he scored 17 goals in 21 games. For the 2017/18 season Abouchabaka moved up to the A-Jugend , with whom he played in the A-Juniors Bundesliga and UEFA Youth League .
In May 2018 Abouchabaka signed his first professional contract with a term until June 30, 2020. For the 2018/19 season he switched to the 2nd Bundesliga for two years on loan to SpVgg Greuther Fürth , for which his contract with RB Leipzig was extended by one year has been. Abouchabaka made his competitive debut on August 20, 2018, when he came on as a substitute in the first round of the DFB Cup after losing 2-1 after extra time against Borussia Dortmund . In the further course of the season Abouchabaka hardly played a role in the professional squad. Substituted twice in the league under Damir Burić , he was no longer used under his successor Stefan Leitl , who took over the team in February, until the end of the season. Abouchabaka gained playing experience in the second team in the fourth-class Regionalliga Bayern , for which he scored four goals in 19 games. Abouchabaka could not prevail in the 2019/20 season either . In the 2nd Bundesliga he was not used at all, but 13 times in the regional league team, for which he scored three goals. After the offensive player did not travel to the training camp with the professional team in January 2020, the loan was ended prematurely on January 17, 2020.
At the end of January 2020 Abouchabaka moved to the Portuguese first division club Vitória Guimarães , with whom he signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2024. The midfielder was substituted on once by the end of the 2019/20 season.
National team
Abouchabaka has played for German youth national teams since 2015. With the U17 national team , he took part in the U17 European Championship in 2017 , but failed there in the semifinals due to the selection of the eventual winner Spain . Abouchabaka scored 3 hits in this tournament. Also in 2017 he took part in the U17 World Cup with the U17 national team. The team failed here in the quarterfinals against Brazil . Abouchabaka could not record any goals in this tournament.
Abouchabaka was active in the U18 selection from March to May 2018 . September 2018 he was used twice in the U19 selection .
