The German U-16 national soccer team is a national team of the DFB to which only players of the younger age of the B-Juniors belong.

The team is looked after by Christian Wück .

history

The first game of a B-1 junior selection (U 16) took place on July 30, 1975 and was won in Heinola on the occasion of the "Nordland tournament" in Finland with 5: 1 against the selection of Norway.

The "Premiere Team":

Strozyk - Kruse , Jenal, Wagner, Rösch - Haskamp , Klein, Wacker - Jaskowiak ( Remark ), Grillemeier (Ternovec), Grünewald ( Welcome )

The goals were scored by Klein (3), Wacker (1) and Jaskowiak (1).

In 2001 the name was changed to B-2 Juniors (previously U 15) and the B-1 Juniors have been playing U-17 internationals since then .

Game operation

Since no UEFA or FIFA competitions have been held for this age group , the selection team only plays friendly matches - including at international tournaments. As of June 4, 2014, 430 games have been played so far.
