U-16 football championship 1992

The 10th U-16 European Football Championship was held in Cyprus from May 7th to 17th, 1992 . It was the first UEFA tournament in Cyprus. In the final, the previous year's finalists faced each other again. The winner was Germany with a 2: 1 victory over Spain . This enabled the Germans to successfully take revenge for the previous year's defeat.

The 16 qualified teams were divided into four groups of four teams each. Within the groups, each team played each other once. The group winners reached the semifinals. The semi-final winners reached the final, the semi-final losers played for third place.

Bettenstaedt (38.) and Captain Hinz (63.) scored the German goals in the final, while Iván Pérez Muñoz had initially given the Spaniards the lead in the 15th minute.
