The 25th U-17 European Football Championship was held in Belgium from May 2 to 13, 2007. Germany was able to qualify for the finals again and finished fifth. The defending champion Russia and the final opponent Czech Republic could not qualify. Spain won the title for the seventh time by beating England 1-0 in the final .

qualification

51 nations took part in the qualification. Belgium was already qualified to host the European Championship. 48 participants played in the first round in 12 groups of 4 teams each from the 25 participants for the elite round, for which England, Spain and Portugal were seeded. Each team had to play once against all other group participants. The mini-tournaments took place at one venue. The two best in the group and the best third in the group qualified. In the elite round, the 7 participants for the final round were then determined in 7 groups of 4 teams each, with only the group winner qualifying.

mode

The eight qualified teams were divided into two groups of four teams each. Within the groups, each team played each other once. The group winners and runners-up reach the semi-finals. The semi-final winners reach the final. The first five teams qualified for the U-17 World Cup in South Korea .
