Kevin Wolze (born March 9, 1990 in Wolfsburg ) is a German soccer player . The defensive player is under contract with VfL Osnabrück from the 2019/20 season and is a multiple junior national player.
Club career
Starts in Wolfsburg and England (until 2011)
Kevin Wolze grew up in Wolfsburg and began playing football at an early age at WSV Wendschott, which is located there . He remained loyal to this club until he was accepted into the D youth team of Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg in 2002 at the age of twelve . In the following time he went through the other age groups and won the championship in the regional league in 2005/06 with the B-Juniors. He was considered very talented and received offers from FC Bayern Munich and English clubs such as Arsenal FC and Bolton Wanderers . Ultimately, the then 16-year-old decided to move to Bolton, which came about in the summer of 2006.
Accordingly, he spent the following time in England, while at the same time regularly being invited to German youth teams. His private environment was a host family. He played mainly for the U18 team, but was occasionally also considered for the second team.
In the summer of 2008 he returned to VfL Wolfsburg, where he was henceforth intended for the second team. Wolze, who is deployed both in midfield and on the left side of defense, performed well and developed into a regular player in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord. He stayed that way in the following seasons, but there was no prospect of jumping into the professional team. In view of this, he left Wolfsburg in 2011 and moved to the second division and previous cup finalists MSV Duisburg .
MSV Duisburg (2011-2019)
At MSV, where a previous team-mate was signed at the same time as Sergej Karimow , he signed a contract until 2013. In his second division debut on July 17, 2011, he scored both goals in the 2: 3 defeat against Karlsruher SC . His goal to make it 1-0 after only 17 seconds was the third fastest goal in the single-track 2nd Bundesliga. Then he first took a regular place and had to prove himself with Duisburg at times in the fight against relegation. In the first half of the 2012/13 season, however, he was rarely considered, but then managed to return to the circle of the first eleven. He always took on various positions in midfield. After a weak start to the season, it was finally enough for a place in the middle of the table in 2013, but due to a license refusal, there was forced relegation. After the affiliation to the third division was established just a few days before the start of the season, Wolze announced that he would remain in Duisburg, which earned him great popularity with fans.
Despite the difficult conditions, it was enough in the first third division year for a placement in the upper middle of the table. The squad was strengthened for the 2014/15 season and Wolze, who had previously moved permanently to midfield, now took the position of left-back again. He was able to establish himself there and fought for promotion with his teammates. This was achieved prematurely on the penultimate matchday with a 3-1 home win against Holstein Kiel . He himself succeeded in submitting the last goal of the game with a cross.
VfL Osnabrück (since 2019)
After MSV's relegation from the 2nd league, the regular player, who had meanwhile been promoted to captain, left the club after eight years and 260 competitive games in the summer of 2019 without a transfer; at the second division promoted VfL Osnabrück he received a two-year contract.
National team
Kevin Wolze went through all youth national teams of the DFB from the U16 to the U20 . With the German U17 selection , he took part in the 2007 World Cup and reached the semi-finals. In the meantime he was captain of the U18.
