Philipp Kühn (born September 2, 1992 in Beckum ) is a German soccer goalkeeper who is under contract with VfL Osnabrück .

Career

First, Philipp Kühn played in the youth of Rot-Weiß Vellern and Rot Weiss Ahlen . On October 15, 2010 he made his debut in the 3rd league for Ahlen against SV Sandhausen after the goalkeeper André Maczkowiak was injured and the replacement Raphael Koczor was suspended by the DFB sports court . Despite Koczor's return, Kühn initially stayed in goal. On March 12, 2011, coach Arie van Lent promoted him to the goalkeeper, but due to some uncertainties, he was replaced again by Maczkowiak from April 30. After relegation from the third division, Kühn signed with SV Babelsberg 03 , but like David Blacha , he dissolved the contract and followed him and Marcel Busch to SV Sandhausen. There he signed a contract for two years.

He made his first appearance with the Palatinate on the 10th match day when he had to replace the injured number one Daniel Ischdonat during the game. However, Ischdonat remained the undisputed goalkeeper and Kühn only made two more appearances in the final third of the season. At the end of the 2011/12 season he rose together with the sand houses as a third division champion in the 2nd Bundesliga.

In the 2013/14 season, Kühn played on loan from Rot-Weiß Oberhausen in the Regionalliga West . With the "Kleebl Blätter" he developed into a high performer, so that in 2014 he was loaned to RWO for another season. At the same time, Kühn extended his contract in Sandhausen by two years. In the summer of 2015 he returned to his home club, but could not prevail against the goalkeeper Marco Knaller and also lost the position of first substitute to Rick Wulle in the second half of the season . After a few appearances in the second team, which was playing in the major league at the time, Kühn left SVS at the end of the 2015/16 season and moved to FC Viktoria Köln . Although he became a goalkeeper there with 32 appearances in the Regionalliga West and the team reached the championship, his contract was not renewed in the summer of 2017. Kühn then joined the northern regional division SV Drochtersen / Assel , whose first goalkeeper Patrick Siefkes had recently suffered a cruciate ligament rupture .

For the 2018/19 season , the third division club VfL Osnabrück signed Kühn and provided him with a one-year contract. This season he was a substitute goalkeeper behind Nils Körber and was only used in five league games. At the end of the season he was able to celebrate the third division championship and promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with VfL , whereupon his expiring contract was extended until June 2021. On the 4th matchday of the second division 2019/20 season , Kühn came on for regular goalkeeper Nils Körber, who had injured his pelvis, and replaced him until the 19th matchday. Even after Körber's recovery, Kühn retained the position of goalkeeper for the rest of the season, at the end of which VfL was able to maintain the class.
