Moritz Heyer (born April 4, 1995 in Ostercappeln ) is a German soccer player who is under contract with VfL Osnabrück .
Career
Beginnings
In his youth, Heyer played for 1. FCR Bramsche, TSV Wallenhorst and VfL Osnabrück . There he played with the B1-Juniors (U17) and A-Juniors (U19) in the B-Juniors and A-Juniors Bundesliga . In September 2013, Heyer played for the first time with the second team in the fifth-class Oberliga Niedersachsen in the men's area.
Sports fanatic Lotte
For the 2014/15 season , Heyer moved from the Osnabrück A-Juniors to Sportfreunde Lotte in the fourth-class Regionalliga West . After he was not used under the head coach Michael Boris , he came under his successor Ismail Atalan at the end of the season on 4 missions (2 times from the beginning) in which he scored a goal.
In the 2015/16 season, the defensive midfielder established himself as a regular under Atalan in the second half of the season. He contributed 3 goals in 26 appearances (18 times from the start) to the championship in the Regionalliga West. In the subsequent promotion games against the southwest champion SV Waldhof Mannheim , Heyer was used in the 2-0 win in the second leg, which promoted the sports fans Lotte in the 3rd division .
In the 2016/17 season , Heyer, who from then on was increasingly placed in central defense by Atalan , was again part of the regular staff and was used in 33 third division games (23 times from the start) in which he scored 2 goals. For the season 2017/18 took Oscar Corrochano the team because Atalan for VfL Bochum was changed. Under Corrochano and his successor Andreas Golombek , Heyer was again mainly in the defensive midfield and scored 3 goals in 34 appearances (33 times from the start).
Hallescher FC
For the 2018/19 season, Heyer moved within the 3rd division to Halleschen FC , with which he signed a one-year contract. Under Torsten Ziegner he played almost exclusively in central defense and was used in 36 games (all from the start) in which he scored 3 goals. With an average score of 2.96, Heyer was rated by Kicker as one of the best central defenders of the third division season.
Return to Osnabrück
For the 2019/20 season , Heyer returned to VfL Osnabrück , who had previously been promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2021. Under head coach Daniel Thioune , Heyer was one of the regulars right from the start. He played mainly in central defense, but was also used in defensive midfield and as a right-back . In 33 second division games (all from the start) Heyer scored 6 goals. From the kicker he was rated with an average grade of 3.05 behind Amos Pieper (2.83) and Joakim Nilsson (2.86) by the champion Arminia Bielefeld together with Timo Beermann from 1. FC Heidenheim as the third best central defender of the second division season. Together with VfL, Heyer reached the league in 13th place.
