Maurice Multhaup (born December 15, 1996 in Bottrop ) is a German soccer player who is currently under contract with VfL Osnabrück . It can be used variably in the midfield .
Club career
Beginnings
Multhaup started playing football at VfB Kirchhellen in 2002 . After six years of membership in the club, he joined SG Wattenscheid 09 in 2008 . He stayed there for a year before joining the FC Schalke 04 youth academy.
FC Schalke 04
From 2009 Multhaup was active for the Royal Blues . During his youth he was able to win various titles such as the Westphalia Cup with the U-15 in 2011, the Westphalia Cup with the U-17 in 2012, a year later he was able to defend the title and also become West German champion. In 2014 he was the Westphalia Cup winner and West German champion with the U-19. He also gained his first experience in the UEFA Youth League . In the season of the Youth League 2013/14 they were only eliminated in the semifinals against the later title holder FC Barcelona . In the 2014/15 UEFA Youth League they were eliminated in the round of 16 on penalties against Manchester City , but like last year they were the only German team to survive the group stage. Multhaup scored seven goals and prepared seven more in 15 Youth League games.
During the winter break of the 2014/15 Bundesliga season , coach Roberto Di Matteo took him to the training camp in Qatar . In the first test match against Ajax Amsterdam , he suffered a bleeding in his thigh during the first half and had to leave the training camp early. At the end of the 2014/15 season, Maurice Multhaup's youth career also ended due to age.
FC Ingolstadt
On August 31, 2015 it was announced that Multhaup had signed a contract with FC Ingolstadt 04 until June 30, 2018. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the change modalities. Multhaup made his Bundesliga debut on December 12, 2015 when he came on as a substitute for Lukas Hinterseer in the 78th minute of the 2-0 defeat of FCI at Bayern Munich on matchday 16 .
VfL Osnabrück
On August 3, 2020, Multhaup signed a contract with league competitor VfL Osnabrück, which is valid until June 30, 2022.
National team
On June 7, 2011, Multhaup made his debut for the U-15s in a 3-1 win against Portugal. A few months later, on October 11, 2011, he made his first game for the U-16s in their 2-1 defeat against Ukraine. In May 2015 he scored his first international goal against Denmark. Between August 29, 2012 and March 31, 2013 he made a total of thirteen games for the German U-17s , for which he scored seven goals.
