Patrick Mainka (born November 6, 1994 in Gütersloh ) is a German soccer player . The defender is under contract with 1. FC Heidenheim in the 2. Bundesliga .

Career

Mainka started playing football at the age of four at TSV Victoria Clarholz and later moved to FSC Rheda . From their U-16 team, he went to Arminia Bielefeld in 2009 . In the junior division of Arminia, the defensive midfielder completed 25 games in the B-Junior Bundesliga and scored eight goals. With the A-youth of Arminia he rose to the A-Juniors Bundesliga in 2012 and played 23 games in the 2012/13 season , in which he scored twelve times.

On May 24, 2013 Mainka made her debut in Arminia's second team in the league game against SC Roland Beckum . In the 2013/14 season he was a regular in Arminia's second team. On December 15, 2013 he came to his only game for Arminia's professional team when he came on for Marc Lorenz in the game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth . In the summer of 2014, Mainka moved to Werder Bremen's second team , with whom he became season champion in 2015 and rose to the third division . During the 2015/16 winter break , he moved to Borussia Dortmund's second team . He received a contract valid until 2018. After his contract in Dortmund ran out, Mainka moved to the second division club 1. FC Heidenheim .

Mainka is also studying sports management at a distance university.
