Marc Lorenz (born July 18, 1988 in Münster ) is a German football player . The midfielder is under contract with Karlsruher SC .

Career

Lorenz began his career at the club BSV Roxel and moved to Preußen Münster via the intermediate station 1. FC Gievenbeck . In 2006 Lorenz switched to FC Schalke 04 , with whose A-youth he was runner-up in the U-19 Bundesliga West . Lorenz was then taken over into the squad of the second team of Schalke, with which he qualified for the regional league in 2008 . A year later, Lorenz returned to Preußen Münster and in 2011 became champions of the Regionalliga West with the team. However, he stayed in the Regionalliga and moved to Sportfreunde Lotte , with whom he was runner-up in the Regionalliga West in the 2011/12 season.

This was followed by the change to third division Arminia Bielefeld, for whom he made his professional debut at the home game against Alemannia Aachen . Lorenz won the Westphalia Cup in 2013 with Arminia and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . From the 16th to the 18th matchday of the 2013/14 season , Lorenz scored a goal in every game and Arminia Bielefeld scored 7 points from the three games after 7 games without winning points.

In the summer of 2015 Lorenz moved to SV Wehen Wiesbaden . There he played 70 games in the third division in the following two seasons and scored four goals. His contract, which expired in the summer of 2017, was not extended, so Lorenz joined the relegated division from the 2nd Bundesliga, the Karlsruher SC , where he signed a contract valid until 2019. He played his first competitive game for Karlsruhe on July 21, 2017, the first matchday of the 2017/18 season, in a 2-2 draw against VfL Osnabrück . With the KSC he reached the promotion relegation at the end of the season, but failed in the FC Erzgebirge Aue .

In his first season in Karlsruhe without a goal of his own, Lorenz scored his first competitive goal for KSC in the 3-1 away win against VfR Aalen on September 26, 2018, the 9th matchday of the 2018/19 season. Lorenz worked out a regular place on the left wing and with a total of four goals and six goal preparations in 32 missions in the 2018/19 season contributed to the fact that KSC was promoted to the second division at the end of the season.
