Babacar Guèye (born December 31, 1994 in Dakar , Senegal ) is a Senegalese football player . He is under contract with Karlsruher SC .

Career

Babacar Guèye started his career in his home country Senegal at AS Douanes Dakar and AS Dakar Sacré Coeur . In 2014 he moved to the then French second division club ES Troyes AC and played three league games; ES Troyes became champions and rose. The following season in Ligue 1 , he played ten games, scoring his first goal for his team in the 3-1 away defeat on matchday 27 against AS Monaco . At the end of the season, EC Troyes rose from bottom of the table again in Ligue 2. In the Coupe de France 2015/16 , Guèye played in the round of 16 and was eliminated against AS Saint-Étienne 1: 2 afterwards.

After the season, Guèye moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for Hannover 96 , although coach Daniel Stendel had turned him down first. Here he made his league debut in a 1-1 draw against VfL Bochum . In the cup he was substituted on in the first two rounds. During the winter break of the 2016/17 season, Guèye was awarded to SV Zulte Waregem and won the Belgian cup competition on March 18, 2017 . In the final they beat KV Oostende on penalties (7: 5, 3: 3 afterwards); Guèye scored 3-2 in the 111th minute of the game. He spent the 2017/18 season - again on loan - at VV St. Truiden .

After his return to Hanover, the striker was on the field five times for the regional league team and was finally signed by SC Paderborn 07 on August 31, 2018 . As a result, he made 24 appearances in the second division (six goals, two assists) and two games in the DFB-Pokal and was promoted to the Bundesliga with the team in spring 2019 . In the top German division, the Senegalese was only six times in the matchday squad and completed three short appearances and two games in the Oberliga Westfalen .

At the end of January 2020 he left Westphalia and switched to Karlsruher SC .
