DFB Cup 2017/18

The DFB-Pokal 2018/19 was the 76th edition of the men's soccer cup competition. The final took place on May 25, 2019 and, as has been customary since 1985, was held in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. The Bayern Munich won 3: 0 against RB Leipzig and won his 19th title.

The DFB Cup winner would have been given the right to start in the group stage of the 2019/20 Europa League . However, since both finalists were already qualified for the Champions League via the Bundesliga , VfL Wolfsburg instead moved into the group stage as sixth in the Bundesliga from the EL qualification (regardless of the outcome of the final game) , and Eintracht Frankfurt was placed seventh in the group stage of qualification.

Furthermore, no two teams from a club or a corporation were allowed to take part in the games for the DFB club cup.

The video assistant , introduced in 2017/18 as an additional aid for the referees , was also used this season from the quarter-finals. In the first three rounds, the technical effort was too great, as sometimes nine venues were played at the same time and the technical facilities in the stadiums of the lower-class teams were missing.
