The Weserstadion Platz 11 (short 11th place ) is a football stadium with an athletics facility in Bremen . It is mainly used by the Werder Bremen women's team from the Bundesliga and the Werder Bremen II team playing in the Regionalliga Nord for their home games. The 11th place has 5,500 spectators.
location
The 11th place is about 300 meters southeast of the Weser Stadium between the training grounds of the club and the Weser in the Pauliner Marsch .
Furnishing
In addition to a soccer field, the 11th place has a six-lane athletics facility. There are also facilities for obstacle courses as well as jumping, throwing and pushing disciplines. The stadium is surrounded by standing trusses, which have a total of around 4,500 spectators, and a small grandstand with seats, the west straight. It can accommodate up to 1,000 fans, resulting in a total capacity of 5,500 spectators. In 2005 the guest area was renewed, and in spring 2006 a new seating area followed. With a view to the introduction of the 3rd football league in 2008, the stadium was equipped with four floodlight masts with 24 spotlights each, so that evening games can also be played. The DFB declared 11th place to be a model venue for U23 teams in the 3rd division.
In the summer of 2016, Werder Bremen decided to install a hybrid turf in 11th place due to the high demands made by several teams playing games . In addition, the playing field received turf heating so that the venue can also be used without restrictions in winter.
use
The stadium has been used by Werder Bremen II and the club's women's team as their home ground for some time. Werder Bremen's second team played in the Regionalliga Nord from 2012 to 2015 and in the 3rd division from 2015 to 2018 . Since the 2018/19 season she has been back in the Regionalliga Nord.
