The stadium on Meldorfer Straße (also: HSV Stadium on Meldorfer Straße ) is a football stadium in the Schleswig-Holstein district town of Heide , district of Dithmarschen . Today the facility has a capacity of 11,000 spectators (1,100 of them in covered seats). The four-  hectare area also houses a training center, the office, the changing room, the common rooms and the Heider SV clubhouse .

history

The venue was built in the early 1950s  as a home for the former football club Heider SV through the contributions of the members and 50,000  DM in capital. The construction became necessary because the old Tivoli football field could no longer cope with the then increasing number of spectators. The stadium was inaugurated on August 13, 1950 with a game against Hamburger SV , to which the local team lost 3: 5. The entire stadium facility was completed in 1972 with the construction of a clubhouse. The stadium is owned by the association, but is located on leased grounds. The covered grandstand was initially designed for 800 spectators, but was later expanded to 1,100 seats.

Specialty

The place of the local rival MTV Heide is next door (both today's clubs emerged from the former VfL Heide).
