Alassane Pléa (born March 10, 1993 in Lille ) is a French football player . The striker is under contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach .

Career

Pléa began his career at Olympique Lyon . Pléa made his Ligue 1 debut on October 7, 2012 against FC Lorient (1-1). Since he was rarely in the first team at Lyon in the 2013/14 season, he was loaned to league rivals AJ Auxerre for the second half of the season. The OGC Nice signed him for the 2014/15 season . On August 29, 2014, Pléa played for Nice for the first time in the away game against Olympique Marseille. He then developed into a service provider and aroused the interest of other clubs.

Pléa was signed by Borussia Mönchengladbach for the 2018/19 season . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2023. The agreed transfer fee was 23 million euros, which made Pléa the most expensive new addition to Borussia Mönchengladbach to date. He played his first competitive game for Mönchengladbach in the first main round of the 2018/19 DFB Cup against BSC Hastedt . Borussia won the game 11-1, Pléa contributed three goals. He scored his first league goal for Mönchengladbach on September 1, 2018, the second match day of that season, against FC Augsburg to make it 1-1.

After Pléa had made a few appearances in the French youth national teams of the U-18 to U-21 age groups in his youth, he made his debut at the age of 25 on November 20, 2018 in a 1-0 win in the test international match against the Uruguayan national team for the senior team when he came on for Olivier Giroud in the 80th minute .
