Nico Elvedi (born September 30, 1996 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football player . The central defender is under contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach and is a Swiss national player .

Career

Elvedi moved from FC Greifensee to the youth team at FC Zurich in 2006 . For the 2012/13 season he moved up to his second team, which was playing in the third-rate Promotion League at that time . On May 15, 2014, he played for the first team in the Super League in a 1-0 win at FC Lausanne-Sport . For the 2014/15 season he moved up permanently to the first team.
