Strange Magic is an American computer-animated musical film from 2015 . The film is based on a story by George Lucas . The German theatrical release was on June 25, 2015.
action
The fairy princess Marianne learns to her horror on the day of the wedding that she has cheated on her fiancé Roland. Swearing in grief that she would never love again, she devotes herself to her little sister Dawn. She is kidnapped by Bog King, the swamp king, after a love potion was stolen from the dark forest. His goal is to keep Dawn hostage until he gets the potion back in order to destroy it and protect his country from love forever. Marianne wants to save her sister and sets off alone to see the swamp king. After an initial conflict, Marianne and Bog King realize that they have a lot in common and eventually fall in love.

The film was directed by Gary Rydstrom at Lucasfilm . Lucasfilm's American Graffiti production served as inspiration for the film's soundtrack . According to George Lucas, the moral of the film is that "you fall in love with a person's mind a lot more than they do with their looks."

Strange Magic was received mostly negatively. At Rotten Tomatoes , the film has a rating of 18 percent. On Metacritic he got a Metascore of 24/100. The film also broke the record for the lowest-selling cinema tickets for a film released in over 3,000 theaters. In the United States and Canada played Strange Magic nearly 12.5 million US dollars one at the box office. Lou Lumenick of the New York Post gave the film a four-star rating and called it a "mind-boggling, terrifying animated musical." Alonso Duralde of The Wrap describes the film as "probably the worst animated film from Disney".
