Thomas Amper

Thomas "Tommy" Amper (born June 10, 1962 in Munich ) is a German composer , music arranger , music producer , singer , managing director , voice actor and entrepreneur .

Life

He is one of the sons of the composer Quirin Amper Jr. and the singer Helga Reichel . Amper is known, among other things, for the German film music of many Disney films. Amper got his first experience in the music business when he recorded his first LP in 1972 and later sang a few songs for the TV series Pan Tau . Despite this, and despite some subsequent projects, he first trained as a retail salesman before finally deciding to work full-time in music. To this end, he trained at the Munich vocational school for musicians from 1980 to 1982, after which he worked as a composer, arranger and choir singer. He worked with well-known greats such as Giorgio Moroder , Juliane Werding , Jürgen Drews and the Spider Murphy Gang before composing and singing the official song Victory for the 1990 ice hockey world championship . From 1995 to 1998 he was on stage as a musician and singer on the tours of Lisa Fitz and Nicki .

Amper worked on the German dubbing of a number of movies and was responsible for the series Hercules and Xena and currently South Park . From 2007 to 2015 he was the musical director of the series Phineas and Ferb and sang a large number of the songs there himself. His brother is the director Robert Amper .
