Patrick John Warburton (born November 14, 1964 in Paterson , New Jersey ) is an American actor and voice actor .

Life

Patrick John Warburton was born in Paterson, New Jersey, to actress Barbara Lord , nee Barbara Jeanne Gratz, and surgeon John Charles Warburton Junior. He and his three younger sisters grew up in a conservative Catholic family in Huntington Beach , California . After attending Servite High School and Newport Harbor High School , he began studying marine biology at Orange Coast College , which he in turn gave up in favor of a career as a model and actor.

After Warburton increasingly appeared in smaller acting roles and commercials from the late 1980s, it was the role of David Puddy in the television series Seinfeld , for which he first received greater attention. In addition to films like Scream 3 , Lots of Trouble and Men in Black II , he was also increasingly seen in series such as Office Girl and Malcolm in the middle , where he took the lead in the short-lived superhero series The Tick . He has since become known to a wider audience in his roles as Jeff Bingham in Rules of Engagement and as spokesman for Joe Swanson in Family Guy . In 2010, 2012 and 2014 he also participated in three short sketches on the US website Collegehumor.com .

Warburton has been married since 1991 and has four children from this marriage.
