Rules of Engagement is an American sitcom that was broadcast from February 5, 2007 to May 20, 2013 on the US television station CBS . The program is broadcast in Austria on ORF eins as well as on Puls 4 , in Germany the series was shown on Kabel eins . Comedy Central Germany has included the series in its program since November 2012 . The series was produced by Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions .

The series was ordered by CBS as a so-called "mid-season replacement" for the program The New Adventures of Old Christine , a program that replaces another one in the middle of the television season. The series itself was replaced twice by the short-lived series Mad Love and Rob , each of which was canceled after only one season.

For so-called Upfronts, the US program presentations of the local broadcasters, the Rules of Engagement was extended again in 2012 and thus reached the minimum number of 100 episodes, which is important for repeat marketing in the USA. In May 2013, CBS announced the cancellation of the series, accordingly the season finale on May 20, 2013 also represented the series finale.

content

The series tells stories about two couples and their single friend in dealing with dating, their relationship and marriage. The different types of relationships and levels are represented by Oliver Hudson and Bianca Kajlich as a newly engaged couple (who only knew each other seven months in the first episode when they got engaged), Patrick Warburton and Megyn Price as a married couple that had been married for a long time (twelve years in the first episode) and David Spade as her single friend, who mostly only has short affairs.
