David Spade (2010)

David Wayne Spade (born July 22, 1964 in Birmingham , Michigan ) is an American actor , comedian and producer .

Life

Spade was born the youngest of three sons to Wayne Spade and Judy Todd. He grew up in Scottsdale , Arizona and is the brother-in-law of designer Kate Spade . His brother Andy Spade was the general manager of the fashion label Kate Spade named after her . He graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in economics in 1986 and is a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Spade, encouraged by his friends to pursue a career as a comedian , joined Saturday Night Live in 1990 as a permanent actor and writer . Here he became known as the sarcastic know-it-all character in a number of skits, as well as: as a flight attendant who wishes every passenger an unpleasant "boo-bye" when getting off; as the receptionist for Dick Clark , who, to be absolutely sure, asks every recognizable person, "And you are?"; and, best known as the bitingly sarcastic Hollywood Minute reporter who ambushed celebrities with a series of one-sentence short jokes. That particular role earned Spade both public applause and celebrity disdain - probably the most noticeable from his former Saturday Night Live colleague Eddie Murphy when Spade showed a photo of Murphy whose career had faltered and mocked it, “Look Children, a falling star… Quick, make a wish. ”(“ Look children, a falling star… Quick, make a wish. ”- Falling star). In a Spade in America sketch he got a tattoo of Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes by Sean Penn . He also mimicked celebrities like Michael J. Fox , Kurt Cobain and Tom Petty .

Although many of the SNL cast members left the show in 1995, Spade stayed the following year to help the new cast members during the transition period. He returned as a presenter on one episode in 1997 and another in 2005. Spade also acted in several films during this time, often with his friend, SNL colleague Chris Farley . These films were successful in various ways. So was Joe Dirt not a big commercial success granted, but before that was about Tommy Boy - Through thick and thin much more attention.

From 1997 to 2003, Spade played a sarcastic receptionist on the television series Just Shoot Me - Editing . He dubbed Beavis and Butt-Head in several episodes and produced his own TV show Sammy 2000. Spade has also appeared in recent commercials, including for Capital One .

Between 2005 and 2007 he hosted the Comedy Central show The Showbiz Show with David Spade . This is where Spade targeted Hollywood and celebrities, in a similar way to what he did in his old role as the Hollywood Minute Reporter on Saturday Night Live . Subsequently, Spade took on a leading role in the comedy series Rules of Engagement from 2007 to 2013 . As one of the main actors he appeared in the commercially successful films Kindsköpfe (2010) and Kindsköpf 2 (2013).
