Parisian musician Lila Dubois moves into the neighborhood of restaurant owner Dylan Ramsey . She works for an orchestra in Los Angeles ; Dubois recently broke up with boyfriend Rene who is trying to win her back. But Ramsey also dreams of the woman.

Ramsey tries to get Dubois' attention by stealing her dog, then bringing it back, claiming he found the dog. Rene sees through him.

Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on April 23, 1999 that the film would show characters of impaired intelligence wandering through outdated and boring templates. The scene with Jon Lovitz is the only funny scene in the film. Ebert scoffed that the dog's fantasies were more interesting than anything else the film showed.
