action

season 1

In the pilot episode, the three friends Melanie, Joy and Victoria from Los Angeles want to fly to Paris on vacation when their plane has to make an emergency landing in Cleveland , Ohio . The three find friendlier, less superficial and youth-fixated residents than in LA. They are particularly enthusiastic about the fact that, as women in their forties and fifties, they still attract the attention of many men. After wanting to enjoy this for two weeks at first, they later decide to stay in Cleveland entirely. They move into a house where the housekeeper Elka, who tends to make snappy comments, is included in the rent. Throughout the season there are numerous entanglements, such as Victoria's pretense of illness in order to win votes for the Emmys through compassion , Joy's date with a man who resembles a serial killer , or Elka dying her hair bright red and choosing between two suitors got to. In the season finale, a tornado hits Cleveland, and when the four friends seek refuge in Elka's basement, they learn that her husband was a thief. Elka is arrested by Melanie's friend who is a police officer.
