Susan Victoria Lucci (born December 23, 1946 in Scarsdale , Westchester County , New York ) is an American film actress and entrepreneur .

Life

Childhood and youth

Lucci, who has an Italian father and a Swedish mother, grew up in Garden City , where she graduated from Garden City High School in 1964 . She then enrolled at Fordham University , where she graduated from the private Marymount College in 1968 . Her acting career began in 1969 when she took on a minor supporting role in the comedy film Goodbye, Columbus .

Career

From 1970 she was in the soap opera All My Children in front of the camera. In 1978 and 1981 she was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for her role. By 2002 she was nominated 21 times for the television award, but received it only in 1999. She was also nominated for the series for other awards such as the Gracie Allen Award and the Soap Opera Digest Award .

She has appeared in numerous other television series, including Fantasy Island in 1983 and six episodes of Dallas between 1990 and 1991 . In autumn 2008 she took part in Dancing with the Stars . Together with her partner, the professional dancer Tony Dovolani , she reached sixth place out of 13 candidates. Susan Lucci has been married to the Austrian entrepreneur and film producer Helmut Huber since September 1969 . You have two children; Daughter Liza Huber also works as an actress.
