Megan Denise Fox (born May 16, 1986 in Oak Ridge , Tennessee ) is an American actress and model . She had her breakthrough in 2007 with the film Transformers , in which she played the leading female role.

Life

Megan Fox was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to Gloria Darlene and Franklin Thomas Fox in a poor family. Their ancestors were Irish , French and North American Indians . After the parents divorced, the mother remarried and Fox lived with her sister, mother, and stepfather. At the age of five she began training in acting and dance. When Fox was ten years old, the family moved to Saint Petersburg , Florida . In 1999 she took part in various talent competitions and the American Modeling and Talent Convention in Hilton Head Island .

Fox is a fan of comics, anime, and video games, and called comic book artist Michael Turner her favorite artist. She owns two dogs. In 2007 she caused a stir when she said in an interview with the men's magazine Maxim that she had tried many illegal drugs and supported the legalization of marijuana . In September 2008, she announced her bisexuality in an interview with GQ magazine . She said that when she was 18 she fell in love with a stripper and was trying to develop a relationship with her. Fox is a sex symbol , has been voted one of the most attractive women in the world by Maxim and FHM magazines several times, and in 2008 it was named the “Sexiest Woman in the World” by FHM.

Career

Fox made her film debut in 2001 alongside Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on Vacation Under Palms . She then made a brief appearance in Bad Boys II . This was followed by minor appearances in sitcoms like Two and a Half Men and Hello Holly . In the 2004 film, Confessions of a High School Diva , she was seen as Carla, Lola's adversary, played by Lindsay Lohan .

She became known to a larger audience in 2007 through the Michael Bay film Transformers . There she played the convicted friend Mikaela Banes of Sam Witwicky (played by Shia LaBeouf ). In the sequel Transformers - The Revenge, she worked alongside Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro again. Fox had signed for the main role for the third part , but was dismissed due to a Hitler settlement with Michael Bay . In the 2008 film New York for Beginners , Fox played a film actress on the side of Jeff Bridges and Kirsten Dunst . In the horror comedy Jennifer's Body , which came out in 2009, she played the lead role Jennifer Check. In 2010 she was seen in a supporting role in the Jonah Hex comic book adaptation with Josh Brolin and John Malkovich . That same year she starred with Mickey Rourke and Bill Murray in the drama Passion Play , which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival . In 2019 she played the American war correspondent Marguerite Higgins in the South Korean film Battle of Jangsari ( 장사리: 잊혀진 영웅 들 Jangsari: Ityeojin Yeongungdeul ) by Kwak Kyung-taek.

She was also offered the role of Lara Croft in the third Tomb Raider film. However, she declined because she did not want to be compared to Angelina Jolie , who played the role in the first two films Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life . Fox has been a model for the Armani fashion brand since 2010 .

Private life

In 2004 Fox began a relationship with actor Brian Austin Green , whom she met on the set of the television series Hope and Faith . They separated in February 2009 and reunited in June 2010. They were married on June 24, 2010 in Hawaii . On September 27, 2012, they became parents to a son. Green also brought his son (born March 30, 2002) from a relationship with actress Vanessa Marcil into the marriage. They had their second son on February 14, 2014. The two announced their separation on August 19, 2015, and Fox filed for divorce two days later. Their third son was born in August 2016.
