Battalion of the Damned - The Battle of Jangsari (Original title: Jangsari: Icheojin Yeongungdeul , German: Jangsari: Forgotten Heroes ) is a South Korean war film from 2019. Kim Myung-min , Megan Fox and Choi Min-ho can be seen in the leading roles . The film is about a diversionary maneuver in the course of Operation Chromite in the Korean War , in which a unit consisting of children and students is sent into battle on Jangsari Beach. The role of Megan Fox is based on the two war correspondents Marguerite Higgins and Margaret Bourke-White .

The North Korean People's Army captured almost the entire Korean peninsula in the Korean War . The Battle of Inchon , led by US General Douglas MacArthur to bring about the change. For this purpose, distraction maneuvers should be started. The defensive maneuver in the southeast on Jangsari Beach is said to provide a diversion. A Korean unit, consisting of minors and students, is sent there, led by Lee. The school and student soldiers have just completed a two-week training session. They are hoping for support from the artillery. But this does not happen and the US Army does not have enough men to support it. As their ship approaches Jangsari Beach, North Korean forces open fire immediately. But most of the South Korean troops can bring themselves ashore. In one battle they can take the North Koreans station. It turns out that the fallen were South Korean children who were forced by the North Korean People's Army to wear North Korean military clothing and to fight.
