Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Dee Lohan ([ 'lɪndzɪ loʊ.ən ]) (* 2. July 1986 in New York City ) is an American actress , pop - singer and a model . She is best known for several Disney film comedies.
Life
Family and youth
Lindsay Lohan is the first child of Dina, an analyst and manager, and Michael Lohan, a stockbroker . She grew up in New York with her siblings Michael, Aliana, and Dakota . At the age of three she was already standing in front of television and photo cameras. To date, she has appeared in around sixty commercials , for example for the fast food chain Pizza Hut and as a Ford photo model . At 17, she appeared on the cover of the North American and UK editions of Vanity Fair .
Career
1998–2004: Breakthrough as a Disney star
In July 1998, Lohan made her theatrical debut at the age of twelve when she played twin sisters Hallie Parker and Annie James in A Twin Seldom Comes Alone (the US remake of Her Parents' Wedding Announce ) . The film became a huge hit with gross revenues of $ 92 million worldwide. Lohan received benevolent criticism for her performance.
In March 2000, Life Size, a television movie starring Lohan, was shown on the Disney Channel . From June 2002, Get a Clue ran on the same channel , where she also played the lead role.
In July 2003 the movie Freaky Friday , another remake of the Walt Disney Company, premiered. It was Lohan's final breakthrough as an actress. The film became a huge hit with gross revenues of $ 160 million worldwide. Lohan received critical acclaim for her performance.
In 2004, two more feature films followed, starring Lohan: Confessions of a High School Diva in January ($ 33 million in revenue worldwide), and in May Girls Club - Be careful! (worldwide box office of $ 129 million), for which it again received a lot of good criticism.
2004–2005: Excursion into the music industry
In September 2004, her first single and album were released on the Casablanca Records label . Her debut single Rumors reached number 106 on the Billboard Hot 100 and gold status . On December 7, 2004, their debut album, Speak , followed , which reached number 4 on the Billboard 200 and received a platinum award (one million copies sold). However, her music received little attention outside of the United States.
In July 2005, the film Herbie: Fully Loaded - A great Beetle starts through premiere, in which Lohan played the leading role. The remake of the film Herbie generated worldwide revenues of $ 144 million.
After that film, Lohan ended her seven-year collaboration with Disney. She wanted to establish herself as a serious actress far away from the Disney star image and play more ambitious roles.
In November 2005 their single Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father) was released , followed a month later by their second album A Little More Personal (Raw) . The record contained more serious, emotional and partly biographical texts as well as melancholic rock / pop, but did not reach the hit status of its predecessor.
2006–2011: feature films and other music projects
In May 2006, Lohan had her first leading role in a motion picture outside of the Disney series. Fortunately , however, kissed was panned and was a commercial flop. In 2007 she starred in the movies Georgia's Law and I Know Who Killed Me . Both productions could not build on their success as a Disney star.
At the end of May 2008, the single Bossy was released as an advance release. Her third album, entitled Spirit in the Dark, was due to be released in autumn 2008, but work on it was stopped due to her private problems.
In July 2009, the television movie (K), A Little Pregnant, with Lohan in the lead role on ABC Family , premiered . The film became a ratings hit.
Lohan was featured in the January / February 2012 issue of US magazine Playboy with nudes showing her in the look of Marilyn Monroe . Since the photos were posted on the Internet in advance, the magazine was brought forward. According to Hugh Hefner , the magazine broke sales.
Since 2012: Liz & Dick and other films
In 2012 she made the television movie Liz & Dick , a film adaptation of the life of Elizabeth Taylor with Lohan as Liz. The film should be an acting comeback for her, as she had recently drawn attention to herself mainly through negative headlines from her private life. It aired on Lifetime in November 2012 . Both the film and Lohan's acting performance received mostly negative reviews.
For the female lead in the 2013 published and mostly negatively rated erotic thriller The Canyons , Lohan received some positive reviews.
Private
In 2016, Lohan got engaged to the Russian Egor Tarabasov. From 2008 to 2009, she was in a relationship with Samantha Ronson.
Lindsay Lohan has also been the namesake for her own disco in Athens since 2016. The name is "Lohan Nightclub".
In September 2018, an Instagram video attracted attention and criticism in which she filmed an allegedly homeless family and invited the children over.
Conflicts with the law
In late 2006, Lohan's alcohol and drug problems became public. She attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings . In January 2007 she was admitted to the "Wonderland" rehab clinic in Los Angeles . On May 26, 2007, she was arrested in Los Angeles for drunk driving after ramming a curb with her Mercedes.
She was arrested again on July 24, 2007 in Santa Monica after pursuing her personal assistant's mother around town at high speed. Lohan's alcohol content was found to be 1.2 per mille, and she had cocaine with her. She was released on bail of $ 25,000 after being re-charged with drunk driving, drug possession and driving without a license. On August 24, 2007, after an admission of guilt, she was sentenced to a day's imprisonment and 10 hours of community service. She was also given a three-year probationary period. On November 16, Lohan began serving her term in Lynwood Women's Prison ; however, she was released after just 84 minutes, officially due to overcrowding in the prison. According to the press spokesman, this should not have been a "celebrity bonus" - prisoners who had only been served for relatively minor offenses were generally released earlier.
In mid-May 2010, Lohan missed a trial in Beverly Hills during her three-year probationary period. When summoned on May 24, she was again obliged to attend the prescribed addiction counseling at least once a week. If she did not meet these deadlines, she could face up to 180 days in prison. In addition, she has now been obliged to wear an electronic ankle cuff (SCRAM device) , which measures the alcohol concentration in the blood via the sweat exuding from the skin and immediately alerts the authorities if the result is positive.
On July 6, 2010, Lohan was summoned again for repeated violations of her parole terms. The court sentenced her to 90 days in prison. The judge also obliged Lohan to subsequently participate in a 90-day inpatient program against alcohol and drug abuse. Lohan entered detention on July 20, but was released after just 13 days for overcrowding and good conduct. Lohan's subsequent withdrawal stay at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles was allowed to end after just 23 days.
On September 18, 2010, she was found to have used cocaine in a mandatory drug test . She was sentenced to another prison term, but was released the same day on bail of $ 300,000 due to an objection from her attorney. Until November 2010, Lohan was not allowed to move to New York City as planned, she had to remain in her Los Angeles home. In addition, she was not allowed to consume alcohol for a year. She also had to undergo regular and unannounced alcohol and drug tests through August 2011.
In the Chateau Marmont Lohan got banned after they had not paid their bills in the amount of more than 46,000 dollars in June and July 2012 found.
On the night of September 20, 2012, Lohan drove into a 34-year-old man in her Porsche Cayenne in New York City and committed a hit-and-run . The police received the license plate from the injured man and were able to locate Lohan at the Dream Hotel.
