action

season 1

Max Black lives with her boyfriend in a small apartment in Brooklyn , New York City and has two jobs: she works as a babysitter for a wealthy family in Manhattan and as a waitress in a diner in Williamsburg . Her new colleague is Caroline Channing, whose family was one of the richest in town, but suddenly ran out of money because her father was arrested as the operator of a pyramid scheme. She has never had to work before and is therefore initially not popular with Max.

When Max finds Caroline in the subway where she spent the night, she takes her to her apartment out of pity. While Max is babysitting, her boyfriend tries to end up with Caroline, who rejects him and advises Max to break up. Max throws her boyfriend out of the apartment and takes Caroline and her horse into her home. The two women develop a plan to open a cupcake shop. To do this, however, they need $ 250,000; later in the series, the amount required is significantly reduced. At the end of each episode, the amount of money the two have already earned on the way to fulfilling their dream is displayed.

season 2

During the second season, a soup kitchen in the nearby shopping mall becomes the scene of a murder. Caroline sees this as an opportunity to get inexpensive rooms for the cupcake shop. Max and Caroline need a loan from the bank to finance the store. The bank rejects her, so Max comes up with the idea of selling her egg cells . Their neighbor Sophie gives them a check for $ 20,000; that solves the problem.

They renovate the shop and open their first cupcake business, which is only moderately successful. Meanwhile, Caroline meets Andy, who runs a candy store across from the cupcake shop. Finally, Max and Caroline can no longer pay the rent and have to close the shop. Andy breaks up with Caroline. In the diner you will find a lined up room in need of renovation. The Korean boss of the diner, Han, allows the two of them to open a cupcake business there.

season 3

After work in the diner, they open their second cupcake shop in the newly renovated back room. But on the evening of the opening, her first customer, a British rock star, dies of a drug overdose. This event makes her small business popular. To further his education, Max attends a pastry school, and to finance this, Caroline works in the office there.

Max gets to know Deke and befriends him. When she learns he is rich, she wants to end the relationship, which Deke can prevent. After a meeting with his parents, they give their son a choice: If he stays with Max, they cut his financial support. Deke decides for Max, but she realizes that Deke cannot live without his parents' money and breaks up with him out of love.

Caroline takes a liking to Nicholas, the French chef at the pastry school. This leads an open marriage, but Caroline does not want to start an affair with a married man. When Nicholas finally wants to get a divorce, there is a scandal and Nicholas' wife learns of the affair. Nicholas moves back to France and the pastry school closes.

Season 4

To boost sales for their cupcake shop, Max and Caroline have t-shirts printed with cupcakes. The credit for this project runs out quickly, so they take jobs at the high -end patisserie The High . Your own shop will be temporarily closed. At The High they meet the young, handsome Irishman Nash, with whom Max falls in love. With the help of women, Nash starts a modeling career. As a result, Caroline and Max are given responsibility for a patisserie branch at the airport. But they soon give up because they want to continue working in their own cupcake shop. Oleg and Sophie's relationship intensifies, and Oleg proposes marriage to her. After a dispute about a shared apartment, the season finale leads to the wedding. At the end of the season, Max and Caroline are on the plane to Paris.

Season 5

Max and Caroline end up in Los Angeles. A film producer wants to have Caroline's story filmed and pay her a fee of $ 250,000 for it. In Hollywood, Max meets the attractive celebrity lawyer Randy, with whom she has a brief relationship, until the two separate because of Max's return trip.

Back in New York, Max and Caroline decide to turn the cupcake business into a dessert bar. Randy visits Max in New York for a month to see if they can stay together. Max realizes that they don't match and Randy leaves. Oleg and Sophie are planning a baby. After several attempts, Sophie becomes pregnant.

Season 6

Caroline and Max open their dessert bar and continue to work in Hans Diner during the day. Despite some setbacks, the new business is doing well over time. Max has a long-distance relationship with Randy for a while, but realizes after several problems that their relationship has no future in this way. While Max mourns Randy, Caroline gets to know the building contractor Bobby while renovating the dessert bar. Oleg and Sophie's relationship is also blessed with happiness: They are now the proud parents of their daughter Barbara.

Caroline's relationship with Bobby is developing positively, and Bobby's family also accepts Caroline after initial difficulties. The film about Caroline's story is premiering. Randy also traveled to New York for the film premiere and surprised Max with a marriage proposal.
