Frank Schaff (* 18th October 1965 in West Berlin ), from 1980 to 1992 under the name Frank Schaff-Langhans out is a German actor , voice actor , dubbing director and dialogue author . His voice is best known for the repeated synchronizations of the actors Joseph Fiennes and Ethan Hawke . Schaff, who has been responsible for the German-language versions of numerous Hollywood films since the mid-1990s , is one of the most established dubbing directors today.

Life

Youth and radio play

In response to a newspaper advertisement looking for children's voices for radio, Frank Schaff worked as a young speaker for the broadcaster Free Berlin from 1976 , including on the children's radio program Tamtam aktuell . In 1980 Ulli Herzog hired him for the radio play series Benjamin Blümchen , in which he took on the role of the little boy Otto from episodes 6 to 33 . In the radio play series Bibi Blocksberg , also conceived by Herzog , he spoke the character Boris Blocksberg in seven episodes , in the radio play series Xanti the character Ypso and in the ten episode series Die kleine Detektiven the protagonist Andi . Dubbing voice

Directed by Conrad von Molo, Schaff took on his first film lead role with his synchronous debut in the Italian drama Nenè in 1978, which was followed by a series lead role as the voice of Tomáš Holý in On the Road to Atlantis (1982). After graduating from the Eckener Oberschule in Berlin in 1983 , he trained as an actor with Erika Dannhoff from 1984 to 1987 . For the first time in the role of a dubbing director, he replaced his colleague Norbert Langer in the television series Wunderbare Jahre , who was no longer available for the production after the first season was over. In 1993, he also wrote the first 52 episodes of the teen comedy Parker Lewis - The Cool One from School . In front of the camera, however, Schaff hardly acted. In 1992 he was shown as a projectionist in the Berlin black and white short film Die auf den Nüssen go by Klaus Stawecki. In 2001 he played a group therapist in the music video Flicker from the album Schafott zum Elevator of the Hamburg punk band Die Goldenen Zitronen .

Private life

Frank Schaff has been married to the voice actress Natascha Geisler since 2011 and has two sons. The family lives in Berlin.
